Jesus S. Arriaga

The Keiki Paddle 2021

Jesus is 14-years old attending 9th grade at Laguna Blanca School. He is very active and loves biking, fishing, and playing squash. Jesus also enjoys swimming and playing games at the beach with friends and family. On November 6th, 2020 he was diagnosed with Mediastinal Large B-Cell Lymphoma and has been fighting his cancer since. Due to COVID-19 and his weakened immune system from treatment, Jesus has been restricted from participating in the activities that he loves but has found pastimes in cooking, playing UNO, and watching movies with his family. Recently, Jesus finished his last treatment and is now on the long road to recovery. As he heals, Jesus aspires to be an entrepreneur, teacher, or mechanical engineer.

The Keiki Paddle is also honoring the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, a local non-profit organization who supports families living in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties that have a child with cancer by providing financial, educational, and emotional support.

And we are grateful to announce that the 11th Annual Running of the Guard run-swim-run… event will be donating 100% of their proceeds to the Keiki Paddle.
